Welcome
Mid-Centre County Authority (MCCA) is an authorized
Public Sewage System. A joint Authority with a nine-member
board, Mid-Centre County Authority serves over 1,100 customers
in the communities of:
- Boggs Township
- Union Township
- Unionville Borough
- Milesburg Borough
The Mid-Centre County Wastewater Treatment Plant
employs three full time operators. The design hydraulic capacity
of the plant is 1.4 MGD. MCCA utilizes a biological process
to remove pollutants from the incoming influent and discharges
processed effluent into an unnamed tributary to the Bald Eagle
Creek. Through the use of oxygen and biological organisms,
bio-solids are removed from the waste stream using environmentally
sound and approved processes. Treatment processes include
screening, sequencing batch reactors, chemical addition for
phosphorus removal, effluent filtration and ultraviolet disinfection.
Waste activated sludge is aerobically digested and dewatered
by a belt filter press. The Authority adheres to strict compliance
with our National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)
Permit, to protect and improve the quality of the downstream
recreational waters.
Anyone interested in being served by Mid-Centre
